UrbanPromise Trenton made significant strides this year, impacting the lives of urban youth through our AfterSchool, SummerCamp, and StreetLeader programs by equipping them with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and leadership and empowering them to build brighter futures.

Our after-school programs have shown strong attendance and academic performance. While 31.4% of students struggled in reading comprehension, math, or writing, we're implementing targeted interventions to support their growth.
SummerCamp 2023 and 2024:
UrbanPromise Trenton's SummerCamp program provides a safe and enriching environment for local youth during the summer months. Over the course of 2023 and 2024, this program offered a variety of engaging activities and learning opportunities to keep students active, challenged, and inspired. Our summer camps offered a rich variety of activities, including UPT Academy in the mornings focusing on word study, IXL Reading and Math, Art, and STEM. Afternoons were filled with exciting enrichments such as robotics, music, culinary arts, golf, financial literacy, and career exploration.

45 students enrolled with a 91% average attendance rate.
Camp Grace
27 students enrolled with a 67% average attendance rate.
Enrichment Programs: Fostering Holistic Development
Year-Round Enrichments
Life groups, Girl Scouts, social-emotional learning, STEM, and clubs including arts & crafts, music, fitness, and cheer.
Girls on the Run
All girls in grades 3-8 participated, culminating in 5K races in November 2023 and June 2024.
Princeton Science Outreach
Students in grades 5-8 engaged in this program from October 2023 to May 2024.
Special Programs
MALE room program for boys, Christmas parties, partnership with Crossroads youth group, and scout programs for younger students.
StreetLeader Program: Developing Young Leaders
Summer 2023
16 StreetLeaders with 95% attendance rate. Enrichments included book club, financial literacy, healthcare careers, cooking, safe dating, and creative writing.
Summer 2024
19 StreetLeaders and 3 StreetLeaders in Training with an impressive 98% attendance rate. Morning enrichment included reading 3 novels and watching two related movies.
Academic Year 2023-2024
22 StreetLeaders from various high schools: 93.5% above required grade average including 31% on Honor Roll and only 6.5% below required grade average.

Experiential Learning
Ski trip at Spring Mountain and ice skating at Proskate, sponsored by community partners.
Financial Literacy
Courses led by TCNJ Bonner Scholars and TCR Coaching.
Personal Development
Workshops on leadership, anger management, mental health, and social-emotional learning.
Community Service
Volunteering at community events, tree planting, and serving at TASK.
Career Readiness and Graduation Success
College Readiness
Presentations from Boston College, career planning, college tours, and resume writing workshops.
Graduation 2024
4 graduates celebrated their achievements and future plans.

3 graduates pursuing higher education at TCNJ, Temple University, and Jackson Community College of Michigan.

  • East Trenton Collaborative (ETC) receives NJ tax credit funding and focuses on community organizing and youth employment in the East Trenton Neighborhood.
Our diverse funding sources ensure program sustainability. We've also provided $45,264 in scholarship funding, supporting seven students across three semesters.
Community Support and Partnerships
We are grateful for the support of numerous churches and organizations. These partnerships have been crucial in supporting our holiday events, providing snacks for summer camps, and offering various volunteer services.
